Laager 21’s recent outspan at Fish Eagle River Lodge, nestled near the charming village of Riebeek Kasteel, was nothing short of spectacular. Blessed with beautiful spring weather, the weekend brought together members for a perfect mix of relaxation, laughter, and shared experiences.
The festivities kicked off on Friday evening with a lively “Game Time – Come Play With Us!” theme. Campers gathered around the fire, enjoying fun games like Catch Your Balls, Simon Says, and Hands, Knees, Cup, setting the tone for a weekend filled with energy and camaraderie.
Saturday offered a blend of exploration and entertainment, with some members visiting the vibrant Olive Festival in Riebeek Kasteel before regrouping to cheer on the Springboks. The day continued with a delicious charcuterie spread and a creative DIY pizza night, where everyone crafted their own pizzas, baked to perfection by the hosts.
The weekend concluded on Sunday with an Indaba and prize-giving ceremony, celebrating the friendly competition and standout moments from the games. With laughter, teamwork, and a strong sense of community throughout, the outspan was a true reflection of the Trekkers spirit.
Hosted with warmth and care, this unforgettable getaway highlighted what makes Laager 21 so special—a shared love for the outdoors, great company, and creating lasting memories together.
