This edition of the Trekers Outdoor Recreation Club newsletter captures the excitement and adventures of the “East Meets West” Laager Road Trip to Forever Resort, Plettenberg Bay. Members from Laagers 7, 15, 18, and 21 converged for a fun-filled weekend featuring scenic drives, challenging hikes (including the 9km Robberg Trail and the Cathedral/Arch Rock hike), boat rides on the Keurboom River, beach visits, putt-putt, and lively braai evenings around the campfire.
The newsletter highlights humorous moments such as Glynis’s cave adventure, a dramatic boat engine failure resolved by changing a spark plug, tent relocations, and the always entertaining “Fines” session hosted by Bennie. Special congratulations were given to Tim & Sandra Waters for their 100th outing, and R2,000 raised from fines and a raffle was donated to The Lighthouse NPO.
